Jr. High

Okay, it's almost been 10 weeks into Jr.High and it's not bad. Here is my schedule:
1st period: Technology(wood shop), Mr.Orlando
2nd period:Band, Mr. LaCoppola
3rd period:1st semester Art, Mrs.Abel, 2nd semester Home and Career Skills, Mrs. Humphrey, and 3rd and 4th semesters Health, Mrs.Starace
4th period:Gym (1st and 2nd semester mon., wed. and fri. 3rd and 4th mon. and wed.) Mr.Jennings, Study Hall(1st and 2nd semester Tues. and Thurs. and 3rd and 4th Tues.,Thurs., and Fri.) Mrs.Vonderheide
5th period:English, Mr.Greco
6th period:Lunch
7th period:Math, Mrs.Hart
8th period:Science, Mrs.LaMena
9th period: Social Studies, Mrs. Vonderheide

The one part of the day I hate right now is Art. Technology is fine, Band is great, but then Art has to come around and ruin my day. The teacher is really mean, and I swear she is out to get me (and some of my friends). Okay, we had to do a grid project where you had to draw a project, make little squares around it, put designs in each of the the boxes, erase the boxes, glue it on a big colored paper, and your done. I ask if I'm done, she stared at it for about 5 minutes and said to glue it on the colored paper. So I glue it like the cooperative little angel that I am, and she walkd up to me after she trims it and says, "Oh, by the way, you did the project wrong." AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! In the following days it comes to my surprise that it's hanging up in the hallway! Wait, nevermind, everyone that has Art right now has their project hanging up in the hallway. And mean old Mrs.Abel doesn't grade on how well you did, she grades on "what grade you deserve". I really don't care if she found this on the internet, because she deserves to know reality!!! I really think that there are about 10 students in the whole Jr. High that actually likes her!!! Okay Sam, calm down, deep breaths, who cares if she doesn't know anything about Art class, the ten weeks are almost up, and then I don't have to be taught by that meany bobeeni until 8th grade. Gulp.
Okay, enough with the meeny bobeeni's, time for the nice teachers. Well, basically, I like ALL the classes EXCEPT ART. Technology is Okay and goes by quick. We are jsut learning drawing techniques such as Isometric, Oblique, and now I don't know what it's called, but we just draw 1 side of the object. EASY! But I find tech right now to be boring. It's not a challenge, but it gets boring with just drawing. Mr.Orlando is nice, but he kinda freaks me out. One day in Technology he kept saying the Golden Corral commercial thing where there's that dude saying, "Not a problem!"Hmmm. Yes. Very Strange.
I like band a lot. Can you guess what instrument I play? Not Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, French Horn, Tuba, Trombone, Piccolo, or Oboe. It's the Percussion section! That includes (get ready for another long list) Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Tympani, Triangle, Crash Cymbals, Marimba, Bell Sets, Suspended Cymbal, Slapstick, Claves, I could go on and on (but sorry, no drum set here). The hardest instrument in Percussion I believe would be the bell set/Marimba. Go ahead, you try learning it, it's a lot harder than it looks! I would suggest to try percussion if you like hitting things, awesome solos, and you don't like sticking to the same instrument.
I'm not even gonna talk about Art again.
Gym is really fun. We have awesome units, but we have occasional dumb units. Those are Cross Country (which I wasn't half bad at) and, well, that's the only bad one so far. Study Hall is Great because Mrs.Vonderheide is one of the nicest teachers and me and my friends get to act like idiots for 43 minutes.
English is boring but we don't have a big English textbook. We read a bunch of books. Usually they are really good books, and I have no life, so I usually just read the books 2 weeks before we're supposed to finish them. But English class is really slow, so I try to daydream.
Lunch is a good time where I can talk to my friends, usually the ones that I have only 1 or 2 or no classes with. And I thought we didn't have recess in Jr.High, but we DO.
Okay, seventh period, math. This class goes by really fast, a lot of my friends are in it, and it's usually not boring. This is probably because 1 of my friends, Tyler, acts like a goofball. He came to school sick 1 day and he was coughing out a lung, and Mrs.Hart said "You better not get me sick!" in a funny way. Mrs.Hart wasn't in school the next day. LOL.
Science is actually a good class. It doesn't require a lot of note writing, we rarely get hard homework, and it's fun. One day the whole class, including Mrs.LaMena, spent half the time telling stories about funny stuff. It was great.
9th period Social Studies is one of my favorites. As I said, Mrs.Vonderheide is probably the nicest teacher in the school. I'm actually good at Social Studies, and the tests are a breeze. I only had trouble on 1 of my homework assignments, and that's because I didn't look in the book. It's actually fun too.
My locker was on the 2nd floor, but let me tell you a story. Okay, we all know that I am very fit, but most kids get winded when they travel 2 floors. Oncr you get to school, they make you wait in the cafeteria in the basement until 7:20, and school starts at 7:28. Then I have to go 2 floors to my locker. Well we have to do the same after lunch unless there is bad weather outside, then we go to the gym on the 1st floor. Well, I got sick of going 2 floors 3 times a day so I asked my friends if anyone on the 1st floor wanted to switch lockers. My friend Robert had a locker on the 1st floor, so I traded with him recently. Now I only have to climb 2 sets of stairs once each day to get to the 3rd floor for Science.
Jr. High is a great place. I made a lot of new friends, don't have to see the same ugly faces of my classmates for the whole day, and Jr. High is easy. These are great years ahead of me at school (A LOT BETTER THAN ELEMENTARY!!!!).
